Living in the Now..

Just though I would share what I did when I first got my Daily Reflections book. I read the first page January 1st I am a Miracle. How true is that for all of us :}

I then went stright to my birth date June 9th. Living in the Now..

First we try living in the now just in order to stay sober and it works. Once the idea has become a part of our thinking, we find that living in the 24hours is an effective and satisfying way to handle many matters as well.

Did that blow my mind ! Before the drink controled me I worked for years withing the Mental Health team and tried so hard to convince so many to think this way,and to except things as they are. A day at a time :} And to look at their own ways of thinking to enable them to change. Yes I did help many clients to go forward along their road. And back in the days I too thought that way. But the drinking took me to the doom and gloom,dark lonley days of self distruction Nr death and insanity.

I am but one of the few very fortunates that keeps coming back,so many unfortunates are unable to grasp the concept and program of AA's living.

I have just looked up my husbands date of bith in the Daily Reflections. First time I ever thought of looking at his,a fellow AA..April 25th. Entering A New Dimension. It reads..

In the late stages of our drinking,the will to resist has fled. Yet when we admit complete defeat and when we became entirely ready to try AA principles, our obsession leaves us and we enter a new dimention-freedom under God as we understood him.

Today we both need all of AA. All of the time. I heard it said once that just dipping your toes into AA will not work. Like bakeing a cake,we need all the ingreadeance, flour,sugar,eggs butter.mix well and it turns out good :} Well most of the time :} Thats why I need to keep working my program and bringing the 12 steps into my daily life. And most of the time I work them well,but for the times that I may not,they are always beside me to remind me alwasy to stay on the right TRACK :}

Have you looked up your birth day and forund a WOW,If so please share it on this posting please :} Every page is so,so good :} And by posting yours it may help others too.

I thank my God and all in AA that give me strenght,hope and guidance.

God bless you all, and thank you.

I just found an old one so maybe someone had a Birth, Birthday on March 25. Liked it so much so thought I would share it too. Your turn next :} Enough from me tonight :}

A FULL AND THANKFUL HEART
MARCH 25, 2012
I try hard to hold fast to the truth that a full and thankful heart cannot entertain certain conceits. When brimming with gratitude, ones heartbeat must surely result in outgoing love, the finest emotion that we can ever know. AS BILL SEES IT, p. 37

I believe that we in Alcoholics Anonymous are fortunate in that we are constantly reminded of the need to be grateful and of how important gratitude is in our sobriety. I am truly grateful for the sobriety God has given me through the A.A. program and am glad I can give back what was given to me freely. I am grateful not only for sobriety, but for the quality of life my sobriety has brought. God has been gracious enough to give me sober days and a life blessed with peace and contentment, as well as the ability to give and receive love, and the opportunity to serve others in our Fellowship, my family and community. For all of this, I have a full and thankful heart.
