It's one of those days...

...when I can hardly recall what the past was like.

Intellectually I can recount the horror story in intricate detail but, today, there is no emotional memory being dredged up. Just the facts, m'am, just the facts.

Rather, gratitude, hope and serenity are what I am feeling. I love days like this!!!  Sometimes the reality of my self as a sober being just gives me the biggest rush!

Nice one thank you.

I have been a little emotional of late and letting my tears flow within my meetings, they just come ! But this week even more so when I was hearing all the gratitude of sobriety, from 6months to 21yrs celebrations this week, and the wonder and gift of sobriety so often pulls my heart so very much.

What a gift and a joy each day can bring yes is so overwhelms me at times.

Thanks for sharing.

Today has also been an enlightening day for me as one of my good friends checked herself into rehab. She has been taking me to meetings and has helped me immensely in staying sober. I feel that with her taking that step is also a step for me, and a good one.

Just the fact that you can quote Sgt. Friday of "Dragnet" fame makes it "one of those days" for me.  Thanks.

*~*~*~*~*^As Bill Sees It^*~*~*~*~*
We Are Not Fighting

We have ceased fighting anything or anyone--even alcohol. For by this time sanity has returned. We can now react sanely and normally, and we find that this has happened almost automatically. We see that this new attitude toward liquor is really a gift of God.
That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us. We are neither cocky nor are we afraid.
That is how we react--so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition.

Yes I have ceased fighting bow for a few years now. What a wonderful feeling too. The reality often brings me to tears of joy when I hear some gratitude in the sharing at meetings.

Thank you again Polly.  This has hit the nail on the head for me today.

I was just told some info earlier, and my head is jumping all around the place.  My insides are all mucked up again.

As you say "we have ceased fighting anything or anyone"

This is what I have to do.  Let go and let God.  It will be alright.
