My wife has got an Alanon book by that title. I have not even read that book but I was so impressed by that title, that as soon as I get sick, I remind myself about it.
I get busy with my steps and the newcomers. It helps when all else fails.
Same experience for me. Do the work, move forward and more will be revealed. Through action my thinking changes. Act your way into good thinking. The Promises materialize.
It always sucks to make a post after Mike, but I will try. For some reason this sentence comes to mind for me.
Practical experience shows that nothing will so much insure immunity from drinking as intensive work with other alcoholics. It works when other activities fail.

I was told that once I stopped thinking about myself and thought of others I would be making headway. My start was to read page 62-68 every day and straight away got myself a resentment :} How did they know that I was so selfish and full of self :} So I just kept reading it till I understood it all because it was telling me how to get working on myself by doing and understanding the steps.
Yep I kept myself busy and still do thank God. Because it was so very lonely on my own with a bottle.
