Okay I think I figured out why page 449 moved to page 417. It has to do with numerology. That's the science of numbers. You take a three or four or whatever digit number, add the individual digits together to get a more powerful number.
If you add 4 +4+9 you get 17. Even if you add 1 +8 you still get a boring number. But if you add 4 + 1 + 7, you get 12 and 12 is a powerful number in AA. 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, 12 Concepts (some people claim there are 12 Promises but that's because they forgot there are promises for every step, not just for step 9 and some people say there are actually 147 promises in the book and I'm not saying there are but 147, come on thats just 417 said a different way). And if you add 1 + 2, you get 3. So, there's the 3 Legacies and 3 parts to the serenity prayer.
Maybe its just a coincidence. maybe i only see what i want to see. Maybe the fact that the last page in the book Experience Strength and Hope (which contains the deleted stories from the first 3 Editions of the Bg Book is pg. 435 which as you have guessed adds up to 12 and that the last numbered page in the 4th edition is 575. Yes I know thats 17 but isn't it odd?

The personal story Doctor Alcoholic Addict which appeared in the 3rd Edition of the Big Book and included the infamous page 449 was renamed and repositioned in the Fourth Edition of the Big Book, so page 449 is now page 417. I figured you all already knew that. And please don't get me talking about why they changed the title. Have a great day and try not to take me too seriously. I don't.
