Hi Ruhig,

Well God does have a sense of humor, at least he gave you both the long peaceful commute so you wouldn't be home as much. He also gave you a good reason to get out of the house and go to some Alanon meetings as Jerry mentioned!

Hang in there and look at all the things you have to be greatful for. I wish I had some solutions, but everything that comes to mind isn't very sober in thought so I guess I'll chime out.

Take Care,

Rob

So on 3/31 we moved into our new apartment. I'm ok with everything. Sure, our sink and toilet leak, but that can be taken care of. Sure, I am still working 45 miles away, but that will change in time too. Sure, he is working 40 miles away, that will change. But the one thing we can't change, he's going to decide that it ruins everything. And you know what that one thing is? The eight people living in a two bedroom apt right above us. I could understand ANY of the formerly mentioned issues. But seriously? You've lived in a first floor apartment half your life, you spent three years homeless in a card board box. And I'm a horrible person because you can't stand the squeeking????!!!!!! I don't have enough sobriety to begin to harp on the serenity prayer, or any other sobriety knowledge, in fact all I really know is that atleast if I just keep my mouth shut and accept this is who he is, and i better get my ass thru college fast to but a house, I can avoid a fight. What did you expect??? To live on the galapagos, where there are no humans?! (to my knowledge) thank you for letting me share.

Excellent vent...errrr share!!  Might want to check into the room next door for a bit...the Al-Anon room  and listen how they do it.  Same steps...same traditions very different focus.  You can slaunter over to the Al-Anon board and get a hint of their language and stories and consequences.  My alcoholic/addict wife fried my drinking and her sponsor suggested I try the other room before AA.  I am grateful beyond words and am a "double".

Keep coming back ((((hugs)))) smile

So. It wasn't as obnoxious last night. But I have off Tuesdays and Thursdays from work. I know where exactly all the na meetings are when they start and how to get there, but as soon as I try google for aa meetings, they all start after 6. I tried sobrietyonline.Org but no luck. Does anyone have a website they check for new meetings or use when they need a meeting when they are out of town (like on vacation out of state/country)?

Try this one:  www.aa.org  Go to the How to find AA meetings Tab.

The excess noise may come and go depending on the day of the week etc......  Your roommates/significant others views are not yours.  Leave them were they reside.  They don't have any power over you unless you pick them up and make them yours.  We are responsible for our thoughts, feelings and behavoir.  Not others.  Same thing in reverse.  smile
