Hi Maire,
Ive just been away for a few weeks sailing and when in port I have had a great time checking out the AA meetings. Met some wonderful people and it just reminds me how wonderful this fellowship is and how true it is to say you have millions of friends, you just haven't met them all yet:). Of course when we are travelling alone we can't always have the immediate contact and support that we would like at the human level. At one point in my trip I ran into a technical problem which was getting frustrating. I paused, sat in the sun, and asked my God for an intuitive thought. It only took a few seconds and the answer came -  problem solved. This works every time and it's real comforting to know that His help is always there, I just have to remember to ask.

God bless,

Hi all, Thank God for this board, am away from home right now and very anxious. Got a meeting yesterday and hope to get one tomorrow. I am returning home on friday so this is good. I just feel that I need to connect and breathe deeply. Stupid things are putting me off my stroke. I got a call from a previous boss who wants to give me feedback on the job I did. I know I did my best but this lady is a drama queen and really milks all feedback. Its highs and lows and never middle ground. I got inordinately anxious over it though I know I handled it ok, I told her to send it on and that I would be around next week to finish off on a previous job for her daughter. I am going to text my sponsor now, unfortunately I can't ring but a text will make me feel better too. Great to be able to read all the posts.

Yes breathe deeply : ) Stay on your side of the street, accept the things you cannot change, and keep it simple. Remember.

Hey Maire,
Good plan. Don't rise to the drama bait. Steady as she goes......

Yes truly a blessing to thank the God of our own understanding for "all things" the joys and victories, the trials and set backs,it is that grace and mercy that allows us to be part of any of it!! Good work Maire Rue,sharing from the heart reaches the heart...:)

Ahhh I can relate to the anticipation. In my experience these events never turn out as I expect.. I am a big fan of projecting the outcome of a situation, therefore ruining any good I may find in the present. Hang Tough!

Hi there, you might want to try a relaxation technique called visualization.  Its the same old thing as someone saying "picture yourself on a beach" but its an actual way to relax.  You sorta just lye down somewhere with the lights off and picture yourself somewhere peaceful.  The trick is to try and actually *See the place in your mind* when your eyes are closed.  It seems to work for me.
