Random things that make me happy (post your own).

Bored and anxious right now (what else is new). Decided to list things that make me happy. What makes you happy?

1. Rain, rainy days, the smell of rain. 2. My pets (2 cockatiels and 1 cat) 3.Animals in general 4. lego and puzzles 5. Reading really awesome books (want to get back to that). 6. Scoring well in Scrabble 7. Word and vocab building games 8. Salad Fingers 9. The comedy channel 10. Really cheesy made for TV movies 11. How cool my house looks after I do chores 12. Feeling like I am moving ahead in life 13. Kind people 14. When  my pets do funny, unexpected things 15. Zelda video games 16. Camping (even though I haven't done it in ages) 17. The smell of museums (dust, mold and animal furs) 18. having cat naps with my cat 19. watching a movie and realizing it is AWESOME 20. writing fan fiction and getting good reviews (yes, I am a geek) 21. Laughing so hard I go bright red and can barely breathe 22. Stuff by Tim Burton 23. The art gallery 24. Surrealistic art 25. When I figure out a puzzle very quickly 26. Funny little dogs dressed up, especially the breeds with "pushed in" faces 27. Music that is so beautiful you have to listen to it over and over 28. Movies that are about *kind* extra terrestrials 29. Cooking something for the first time and not messing it up 30. Soft drinks from different countries (I might start a blog about new things I do, I like this stuff called Cockta from Yugoslavia- its like coca cola, but bitter) 31. Finding old, broken things and repairing them (I sort of like to 'save' things). 32. Saving a near-dead houseplant from dying (my friends tend to give me the plants they are killing off and sometimes I can help them). 33. Really old, weird retro stuff, kitsch, etc.

I saw this old ceramic dog bank at the salvation army a while ago. I loved it, even though my buddy Mark (my bf) found it completely ugly and tacky. It was ugly and tacky, but it made me laugh. Here are some photos of happy things.

old rushton bunny dollPoutine- a canadian fave! Bad for you, tastes awesome!the northern lights!A loris... making a face.

greeting newcomers at our meeting and hugging everyone when i leave.

cooking supper for our monthly community supper and hoping to break the record of 160 meals.

whistling back at the hawks and have them answer.

throwing the frisbee for my dog Gilly.

gathering the eggs my chickies lay.

listening to the wind in the trees, watching their graceful swaying.

A loving conection with the God of My Understanding.

Wow. Cool. Dean, you have manatees near you? COOL. Awesome! JJ, cool, you have your own chickens! Aquaman, I also love cats. And yes, seeing people stop drinking is great, great for them and inspirational for everyone else.

Today, I became a Grandmother (again!) to a healthy boy. So, I'd have to say that my kids and grandkids (and two GREAT grandkids) give me joy and happiness. And the miracle that I'm even around to see it all happen. More randomly, seeing the sun shine. That's nearly as big a miracle as a baby around here!

A dog smiled at me at the bank the other day. I'm serious, this lady had her dog in the bank and I really like dogs so when it looked at me as we were waiting in line I smiled and it smiled back. It sounds crazy but it's true.

And since I believe that animals have an instinctive ability to sense the good (or bad) in people it gave my self esteem a boost. As retarded as it sounds it really brightened my day :)

That is awesome Tipsy! I had a dog smile at me a little while ago. It doesn't sound crazy- dogs can and do smile, you see it clearly! Their whole expression changes! I love it when dogs smile at me! I love it even more when cats I don't know smile at me, because they don't seem to smile as much.

Or maybe we are both crazy? :)

Maybe, but it's not a kind of crazy I'd give up!

I have a very strong affection for animals and they seem to sense it. Shy cats don't run away and will let me scratch them behind their ears. Dogs just can't get enough of me! I did get attacked by a momma mountain sheep once but I got between her and her kid so I kind of had it coming. but for the most part I feel calm as a Hindu cow when I'm around non-human creatures. It's a deep source of shame to me that I haven't been successful in my attempts to become a vegetarian. If only animals didn't taste so darn good :(

I like the doll. Its a rushton. Type in "Rushton stuffed animals"- they are ALL weird. :) I like weird. I love being around animals, too, and feel MUCH more peaceful around them than around humans. )

Mornings.

I used to hate them. Rotten, hungover, shaky things they were. Just another day of being a vessel for the alcohol. I used to hide in bed for as long as I could as if sleeping could somehow help me avoid the hollowness my life was.

Now I love them. I bounce out of bed at 6:00 am and go off to work whistling.

Enjoying mornings shows me just how far I've come and how good my new life is.
