Does anyone know where in our literature I can find a quote about anonymity to protect our humility? I was told Dr Bob said something like; " we practice anonymity in public to protect our Fellowship and in AA to protect our humility".
Welcome aboard revpooh. I did a quick google search and came up nil. I am sure that if Dr Bob said it one of our scholars will cough it up. Lin Baba? SPD?

Thanks for the topic. On page 7 of the AA approved pamphlet "Understanding Anonymity", it discuses in great length the importance of anonymity on all levels. There is also a quote from Bill Wilson on that page which says:"The word anonymous has for us an immense spiritual significance. Subtly but powerfully, it reminds us that we should always place principles before personalities; that we should have renounced personal glorification in public; that our movement not only preaches but actually practices a true humility". If you're interested in researching this topic further, I suggest you pick up the pamphlet for yourself. Once again, it's called "Understanding Anonymity". I hope this helps.
~God bless~
