We were all packed,reservations made for hotels,plans lined up to see realators and events planned for our 10 day vacation to Florida(Deerfield Beach) where we go every year and probably moving to next July. BAM!!!! Irene(the nemisis wind storm)buttons up New York airports and looks like Tuesday now earliest we can go..Some disappointment ,especially for my daughters husband who has to be back on Tuesday the 6th cutting his time short,but we prayed and thanked our Higher Power for being able to even have an opportunity to go.(and also for those who may have been caught up in the raviges of this storm) Life will continue to show up ,cause set backs and throw unknown quotients into the mix but we have options of how we choose to view each situation. I ,We ,WILL TAKE EACH DAY, as it comes,be grateful(truly for me) to live in the NOW(never opportunity wasted)to be on vacation(gettin paid)and making decisions and letting God work out the results. Got to get some candles and batteries now to get prepared if we do get weather. When the storms come, and they will,we will continue to put our faith and trust in the hands of the 'ONE' WHO HAS CONTROL OVER THINGS WE DON'T...Dissappointed,somewhat,defeated no way......Have a blessed and productive day.. Eyes opened again this morning,another miracle,,gonna head on out and make this day best it can be cause it what I have for now... Peace.......

Thanks...Mike. I'm in the same boat as you, my friend. Maybe, all the residents of New York should band together and build an "ARK". That's taking things to the extreme, isn't it? Youre right about one thing Mike; the gifts of sobriety are numerous and the benefits outweigh anything else. One of the greatest blessings of being sober is the ability to navigate my surroundings without any preconceived doubts or reservations. This has been my greatest challenge -bar none, and one I continue to improve upon every day. God willing. I hope you survive the storm, my friend, and start enjoying your vacation on Tuesday.
