I was taught is the foundation of recovery and I have come to understand that as true from practice.  Service keeps me involved in the whole program, every part of it and there is excitement and satisfaction as a natural part of being involved.

Yesterday was a huge service day as I participated in a Local Faith Based event just as an invitee.  I sat at a table with so many people from AA and NA and the room was a majority of recovering fellows.  The reaction is amazement that there are soooo many of us local recovering anonymous people in the community supporting various levels and areas of recovery.   The guys I sat with are truely anonymous and most truely non-profit as they follow AA's tradition of being totally self supporting.  They do large work and all of it about giving...they get no outside funding only anonymous recognition by the amazed communities they work in.

I had to split for an hour or so because I am the PI Chair for our District and was participating in a PSA recording at a local radio station.  It went beyond well and we are all excited that it will get the message out into our communities which are ravaged by booze.  I just loved watching the miracle of recovery happening around me with the membership which was participating giving their own service out of different lengths and qualities of recovery.

Yesterday was a growth day and I love growth days because it set up me for today.

Mahalo (thanks) all the way around and of course above...always above.   If you are not yet involved...there is lots of room inward and outward to do so.

(((((hugs))))) smile

yes, I am on my second time for service. It truly helps me a great deal. I prioritise this time above all else as it is a special time for me.

Thanks Jerry ,service is truly a blessing, I still serve as GSR for one of my home groups and share at meetings and institutions when asked. To be of maximum service to God and others......our primary purpose !!smile

Thank you for sharing, what I got from it was a clear picture of how service is not a drudgery or yucky medicine I have to swallow cause it's good for me.  It can be fun, helps keep me healthy and it feels good.
