Very Similar, Marathoning and Recovery

We train hard daily(stay in the solution. We stay fit and trim...(our spiritual connection)

We've done all we can(its all in our Higher Power's hands now). We ensure we don't go out to fast early(plan for tomorrow but not at the wasted expense of today). We feel the elation of hard work and training at the 18 mile mark and then in one breath it seems we can't go one more step(Life on Lifes terms, joy mixed with pain and the pain will come).

We dig down when we think we have nothing left(calling on God, our support our process and principles)to help us get through the rough miles. We cross the finish line not leaving anything out on the course(we've done our best and relied on God to help us through)

We have finished the race, hopefully accomplished goals we had set for ourselves, guided by God's plan for us.The race is over,we may feel a little let down(not sure why)but we know that for this race ,we did the best we could (we tried to remain in our best spiritual condition)We also know ,if so granted, tomorrow is another day ,to get back to training,in a restful mode, letting the healing again begin(physically, mentally and spiritually. As we get out in the early morning hours,we have "sought thru prayer and meditiation" and just relaxing smelling the grass and feeling the mist, we faintly hear in the backround..'Well done my good and faithful servant"......Just For Today. I will run the race of life ,guided by God and taking time to enjoy the miles as they go by........Have a blessed and productive day!! (Susie I know you can Identify   :)  :)  Peace........

Love this Mike. I have alway seen how my recovery and marathon running go hand in hand. The finish line of recovery tho is never really reached. I see that in recovery the race is ran the same but the finish line is always out there. I love that because it shows me that I continue to grow and reach in the program and in life. Makes it exciting for me. Thanks for posting this.!!!!!
