Surrender - Hope - Power

Surrender

Beaten into complete defeat by alcohol, confronted by the living proof of release,
and surrounded by those who can speak from the heart, we have finally surrendered. And then, paradoxically, we have found ourselves in a new dimension, the real world of spirit and of faith. Enough willingness, enough open-mindedness -- and there it is!

Long-term Hope

The beauty of AA lies in knowing that my life, with God's help, will improve.
The AA journey becomes richer, the understanding becomes truth,  the dreams become realities -- and today becomes forever.

Power

I looked up an AA meeting and went there -- alone. Here I found an ingredient that had been lacking in any other effort I had made to save myself. Here was -- power! Here was power to live to the end of any given day, power to have the courage to face the next day, power to have friends, power to help people, power to be sane, power to stay sober. . .
What is this power? With my AA friends, all I can say is that it's a Power greater than myself. If pressed, all I can do is follow the psalmist who said it long before me:
"Be still, and know that I am God."

The joy is in the journey, so enjoy the ride.

Thanks Doll, All three of these were really great. I really like the last one, as a matter of fact, last October I was sitting in church, by myself reading and "Be still and know I am God " jumped out at me, and I have been being still and He has really worked a few miracles in my life this past year.

I'm just so amazed that each day,God shows up, some where, someway, even if it's the sunset,a butterfly,or a friend getting the news from her doctor that the clogged artery in her heart is all of a sudden unclogged, with no help from him...God is all around us.

Have a great sober weekend !

(((Hugs)))
