Hi all.

I survived the stag weekend, but not sober, really fluffed up and got wasted 3 nights running. I've got video footage of me running into the sea naked at 3am and then losing all my clothes, my friends had to dress me and carry me off the beach. I'm lucky to have friends that would do that. Totally powerless over alcohol. On the bright side, I didn't crash my car, nor did I drive it while drunk, and I didn't offend anyone. I blew £500 in 3 days.

It's been 22 hours since my last drink and I've almost stopped shaking. So dissapointed and angry with myself. I'm going to kick myself up the arse for a couple of days and do lots of F2F meetings. Over a year without a drink and I'm now covered in bruises from falling over. S***.

I'll be back here soon. Sorry to let you all down.

Best wishes

Chris.

Chris, Glad you made it back in one piece. I hope you do get to some face to face meetings. How's your fiance feel about the drinking?

Have you heard from Nic lately?

You haven't let me down Chris old pal.  I'm still hangin in there, one day at a time, and I know that you are going to get back on track, as well.  Count your bruises, and keep the number as a reminder of all the good reasons for sobriety.

I'll keep encouraging you to stay on the wagon, and only ask that you do the same for me.

"sorry to let you all down"

Don't be ridiculous, you didn't let us down! You just slipped, who here hasn't slipped? Or dove in head first? Just pick yourself up dust yourself off and climb back on that bull and kick the everlovinshit out of it ;)

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling better now that I can manage to eat solids again.

Gammy, My fiancee Julie actually expected it, she knows the group of people I was with. None of them have a drink problem and none are AA. My friend Helen who was there did the best thing for me and took the bottle off me before I finished it and stayed in my tent at night to make sure I didn't choke on vomit. Helen is a Paramedic. Heard nothing from Nic for ages, I can't get on the Rainbows End website either??? Computer problems??? Got a F2F meeting tomorrow evening. Best wishes to you Gammy

Hi Sick of Being Sick. 15 Bruises and 2 grazes, 1 sprained wrist. Thats convincing enough for me! Stick with it my friend, sobriety is THE ONLY WAY. Best wishes to you too.

Hi Tipsy, I'm glad that you've stuck around, it's true that life gets better, but sometimes a reminder of how bad it was before is needed. No sober or sane person swims outdoors in the UK in October. It needs alcohol to make me that nuts. Best wishes to you.

Hi Doll. Thanks for being here. Together as a group we can help each other to beat the drink. Best wishes to you.

Love you all.

Chris.

i have found that each time i slip, whether its running to the beer/wine or getting the "coda crazies"   whatever!!!   i can now forgive myself, and i  look at  "ok what triggered the slip???"   what do i need to do step 4 on????? its just part of growing / recoverying....it helps to do affirmations....."i am perfectly IMperfect" helps.......take what works/ leave the rest..rosie
