Saturday, September 24, 2005 Imagine this What if, instead of demanding that life were different, you simply set out to make it better by virtue of your own attitude and actions? What if, instead of placing limitations on your happiness, and holding it hostage until certain conditions were met, you simply let that happiness happen?
Imagine how life would be if you didn't have to worry about getting things or losing them. Imagine what you could accomplish if you could spend your time free of anger, frustration, and regret.
Think of all the places you could go if you didn't have to first ask permission from your own ego. Consider how much energy you would have if you were free from every anxiety.
Such a life is possible, and it is closer than you may think. In fact, the very act of visualizing it begins to make it happen.
Because your ego, your attitude, your anxieties, your frustrations, angers and regrets are all creatures of your own making. And you can choose just exactly how they will be.
Visualize a life of freedom, fulfillment, meaning and richness. Hold on to that vision and you will begin to make it be.

holding my happiness hostage?????
jeez, thats something to think about...i got more to let go of than i realize,...
"Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise men turn to fools and robs the spirit of its vision." --Tecumseh, SHAWNEE
It's not an accident that firewater is also called spirits. Firewater affects our judgments. The Great Spirit created a set of laws and principles by which we are to live our lives. When we have problems we should pray and ask for the wisdom of these laws. If instead we turn to liquor, our judgement will be affected. It is the decision and choice made under the influence of booze that causes us to be fools. We need to learn to lean on prayer and not on the spirits of alcohol.
Great Spirit, teach me to pray. Let not one drop of liquor touch my lips today.
Years ago I suffered from panic attacks. I always thought it was me , Was so happy to find out there was actually a name for what I was experiencing.
One of the thing that helped me get better...was to visualize my self in a situation that would normally make me panic.
Say I had to go to the grocery store. I would sit and meditate step by step going to the grocery store.
I would mentally visualize myself walking around "calm". Calmly walking down the aisles, carefully looking at the products with "peace" in my mind..."peace" in my bodily motions...
After time...this simple task would allow me to go to the grocery store with a completly different frame of mind.
It was "peace and serenity" that eventually entered my life.
