Hey guys.   Work schedule has been demanding for the last couple of weeks and will be through mid-april.  I finally made a church-based recovery meeting last night, first meeting in a week.  I doubt I will have a chance again til this weekend, but I plan to go to my normal group and finally get things going with my sponsor.

Otherwise, things are great.  I've been hitting the gym late at night,  dropped about 20lbs now.  The urges to drink have been pretty much non-existent now for a couple of weeks, but I'm always on guard.  I quit smoking 13 years ago but still have dreams that I started back even though I wouldn't think of smoking now.  I'm having the same dreams about drinking now and it's a little frightening when I wake up.

Hope you guys are doing great and will try to catch up some this weekend.

Drinking dreams are pretty normal. That is when having a sponsor really helps get you back on track faster. I would call my sponsor after those types of dreams. Most folks can't string together sober days like you are in the beginning without a sponsor and daily AA meetings. You are doing good though Jasper.

Good to see all is well with you. I had a drinking dream early on and for the first 30 or so seconds after waking I felt horribly hungover and I had to double check my memory to make sure I wasn't out on the town the night before. Our minds are funny things sometimes. It's a good thing you were a bit frightened, I think. Not being worried about a slip might be more of a problem.

It's of no power of my own, I can promise that. It's good to be sober.
