Today I would like to especially thank my Higher Power, whom I choose to call God, for allowing me to have a 63rd birthday. In those years, 25 or more were accompanied by active addiction, 26 years,3 months and 23 days(who ever counts!)freedom from active addiction and doing to the best of my ability my walk with God ,by applying and trying to live according to spiritual principles and diligently pursuing all that God intended for me. Life has been especially accelerated bringing some trying situations recently, but in all things ,with the tools of our program.my support and God on top, each day I am afforded another opportunity to "celebrate life" in freedom and hope. By Faith I am sure of what I hope for and certain of what I have not seen. Please join me today as I "party" starting with a 12:00 meeting, trip to Motor Vehicle, bang my drums for some hours, and have a day off from work.Tonight we'll top off the party with my family having dinner and cake and some love and laughs. Can I say ,oh yeah my "partying certainly has taken on new and better form!!!If you are struggling and things seem dark, there is a solution, you can start the healing with us at Step 1, admission, surrender, knowledge of powerlessness, addiction, unmanageability obsession.compulsion, reservations and a way to move forward, day at a time.If you are new here and not sure whats going on or are if you are in the right place, stick around, listen to suggestions, take some direction and feel the love. When I look back, turning 38 seemed only like a remote possibility, but God had plans for me....In recovery "LOST DREAMS DO AWAKEN AND NEW POSSIBILITIES CONTINUE TO ARISE"Thanks for aligning with my spirit today and together"we" can move forward in freedom ,joy and happiness,no doubt emotions our Higher Power intended for us!!! peace !!!

Sincere happy birthday wishes to you Mike. I am moved that you are a shining example of a person that got to live the life God intended for them by following the program. I pray that I stay the course and can say similar things when i hit my 63rd birthday. Coincidentally, if I do stay sober that long...I would be 26 years and a few months sober also...having started this journey at 36.
