My husband will be celebrating his 1st birthday on October 10th and I want to do something very original and special for him...Any ideas will be much appreciated...
Just my opinion N2, but I think you likely deserve just as much credit for his sobriety, as he does, if not more. Takes a lot, sometimes, to support and stand by your partner in this Alcohol recover journey.... Big adustment for both of you, one day at a time.:)
Me? Ide likely keep it simple--make a nice dinner--with candlelight, and just tell him "You love him"
Then again--Im a softy and a romantic.
If you want to buy him a new car--go ahead-hahaha.

A good feed and lots of love. I know you will also have had a hard time over the last year. My partner Julie is one of the main people that has kept me sober.

One of my best friends had a 1 yr anniversary and was leaving immediately after for a trip to Alaska, so I put together an AA survival basket for him. It had a bag of chocolate, bottled water, a small book of AA reflections, a bag of trail mix(cause an AA group is like trail mix...a little fruity, lots of nuts, and tons of sweet stuff), and a key chain that had a Bible quote...so he could take God with him wherever he went.
