Hi My name is Rick L., and I am an alcoholic. It seems strange to type that as opposed to saying it in a meeting. I am back in the rooms since January of 2004. I say "back" in because I am not a first time winner, but I am a winner today and every day I stay sober. Finding this web site is so cool. My looking for it had a strange beginning. I "met" someone by way of my blog, and it turns out she is 21+ years sober. She was reluctant to share AA experiences on the blog for fear of her anonymity. She has since started an anonymous blog, but I said to myself, "Self...wouldn't a forum for AA be real cool." Then I came down to earth and realized that such a forum must already exist. A quick Google click, and voila! Here it is. I started reading posts right away, and replied to 3 of them. So I figured I might as well introduce myself.
I am looking forward to using the site. It is no substitute for my sponsor, but getting different views is always helpful. It is like having the recovering internet for a second sponsor.

I started coming here after moving to a place that didn't have meetings every day...it's out in the country and really quiet. I have been sober a little over 4 years and I needed the day to day contact with other AA's.
There are so many wonderful people here, I am so amazed by the love and caring that I see.
