and only 2 more to go before the weekend. I llike working the days between Christmas and New year, 'cus I can get all that stuff done that I've been putting off through December.

So i've had a productive day in the office, just me and Planet Rock, minding my own and getting stuff done.

The temptation is to plod on and do too much, but I've got to be disciplined. Managed to run 4 loads of washing through, walk 3 miles and post off the intergroup minutes between times.

Looking forward to moules mariniere and brown bread for tea and a meeting after that.

So much better than sitting at my desk, shaking and sweating and feeling sick.

Mussels stewed in a vegetable stock with onions, a little garlic and some leeks. Well, that's how I do it. I think it should have white wine in there but of course that's not really essential.

You notice he says "tea" instead of "dinner" also. Tea is a meal for our transatlantic cousins.

Depends.

Up North it's Breakfast, dinner in the middle of the day, Tea early evening, supper before bed.

Unless you have your dinner at tea time or have a fish supper at dinner time. Dinner, supper and tea are meals.

Down south it seems to be Breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper. Lunch, dinner, tea and supper are times of the day.

Somewhere in there you might get elevenses and afternoon tea.

Such a small country, so many variations.

Ohhh, and the yummy stuff they get, too. Buttered scones, cucumber sandwiches, beans on toast, Cornish pasties, Bangers & mash, Plowman's lunch.... When's the next flight?

Buttered Scones - only as a treat for me and anyway if we're doing scones, it'll be scones with a big dollop of strawberry jam and clotted cream.
<Joke>
I went into a restaurant the other day and ordered a ploughman's lunch, expecting a peice of pork pie, a hunk of cheese, some crusty bread and fresh butter, maybe a slice of ham and some green stuff.

I got pie, chips and peas. Oi, says I, this isn't a ploughman's lunch!

Said he, it's what he'd get if he came here.
