I have been in the 12 step program just under 3 years.  It has been the best journey I have ever been on.  Seeing a family member who just started Sat. come into the program made me realize how the steps have changed me.  She is saying that she knows the program...... was on it for lots of things..... her reply to everything was ....Oh I know.  But I just smiled.  On the inside I was saying.......FORGET WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW AND JUST LISTEN YOU MORON!!!  LOL  But I know I am not going on her journey she is.  God will teach her like he did me.   I know better then to get into a recovery situation with a relative, disbelief She is my older sister.   I have told her that I cant be part of it and she said......wait for it ....... "I KNOW" lol   So I smile and pray for her journey.  Feels good to have some time under my belt.  Now before I start to sound cocky about my recovery, I just want to say... the longer I am in this program the more I see what I have to learn.  It is amazing how In the beginning I was told something and now years later I say Oh, thats what they mean lol.  Never boring in this recovery program.  Just thought I would post before I left for my meeting.  Everyone have a blessed day!!

Yes, thanks for sharing that Susie.

Amazing isn't it .. lots of ppl think they know it all. ( and I admit to being one of them at times, lol. )

I heard it said best in a meeting awhile ago .. The first year we dry up, the 2nd year we sober up and the rest of the years we grow up :)

Yep, AA has been a real unlearning process for me.

When I came into the AA, I knew everything. Now I don't. Still working on that growing up bit though. ;)

The longer I am in the program, I am pleasantly astounded by how little I actually know.
