did you got to the meeting?

and are you feeling better?

I read your post and in the begining its hard whenever you have a craving seriously eat some ice cream or a candybar  before you crack one it really takes the edge off.

might sound stupid but the body prduces a byproduct of sugar from liquor and when detoxing it helps to substitute. (had said it had alot of sugar in it-sorry)

thats why they serve cookies etc at meetings.

try this while you are calling people when a craving hits.

Actually, (most) alcohol has no sugar (beer doesn't), basically what happens is the liver "processes" the alcohol into sugar.  But the result is the same. Keep hard candy, or whatever you like, close by.

Congrats on the meeting. Tell us all about it.

Love and peace

Thanks for asking. The meeting went well.  We discussed the 8th step.  It was a little hard for me to follow at first since I am still working on the 1st step.  It did give me   I am still feeling crappy, but not as bad.  I think the 1.5 beers that I should not have had today satisfied my bodies craving.  I know that is not the way to go about it, but I am still new and taking in all of the information and support.  I will try the subsitutions with candies.

You deserve a big pat on the back Smitty. Youre trying Pal. You got out to a meeting--thats a biggy.

Oldtimer told me that AA spoils your drinking. It Does.:)

Thinking about you, and as you can see--a lot of other loving caring people, on here, do too.

All the best, and the start of another day.

Yupper Ellen. Ice cream really does work. The first week sober, I stole a whole truck load.

The ice cream was great-plus the extra 70lbs. Havent ate much ice cream since tho-dont know why. Did I eat the whole truckload? nawww-got through bout 2 gallons tho-the rest melted, and I had to make milkshakes:)

The food in the slammer was good too.:)

Good for you, I'm glad you made it to and through the meeting. Is there one today, tonight? Did you get any phone numbers, if you did call them, no one gives there number unless they want you to call them.

Like Phil said before, one day at a time, sometimes five minutes at a time. Everyone has given you great suggestions, keep it simple and go to any lengths to stay sober. You can do it.

(((Hugs)))
