So I'm at a meeting Friday and we share The Steps when we read how it works and the fellow who read step 11 did this...

"Sought through prayer and mediation to improve our conscious contact with God..."

No, no, no. That's Catholicism, not AA. wink

the strangest way to hear "sought through prayer and medication to improve our conscious contact"..... is to suddenly hear it coming out of your mouth and wondering where did that come from?  I had that experience two years ago and it took the group quite some time for the laughter to die down and for me to regain my composure.

Another step frequently misspoken:

I am guilty of saying it like this a LOT.

Step 1; We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol and that out lives had become unmanageable.


I didn't even notice that I was saying it wrong. Geez.
