AAhistory.com is a cool site that I found earlier this year while looking for something else. I wound up registering my sobriety date there and just got a (early) cool birthday greeting. Very nice. Check out their site and sign up your sobriety date.
Yeah, I registered my sobriety date on there the first week I was sober. There's a guy from Portland who sent me a virtual coin every month on my anniversary date for the first year I was sober. I still get occasional emails from him with AA info. I was on vacation in Portland VERY briefly last summer and was hoping to grab a cup of coffee with him, but my schedule didn't permit it.
I have no clue how many newcomers he does that for, but it's a nice idea--just pick some random new folks with a month or so and send them a coin every month. I know I looked forward to the emailed virtual coins almost as much as the ones I would get at my home group.
Your AA B-Day is Sunday, right??? Very cool, Deaners. "Cool Deans" (LOL)
Love AA History, and we sure have a lot of it discussed and studied around here, in Akron OH. I probably have not studied it as much as I should, nor appreciated to the fullest, what got us collectively to where we are at! But my home group is helpful, in that we read and study the 12 Traditions, in long form, as laid out in the 12&12. There is a lot of hsitorical ES&H about stuff they tried back when, and failed with, and how they got to certain Traditions, for those who would like a good place to start.
Thanks for the link, I will be checking it out!!
(((hugs)))
