We were talking about this at the Women's meeting tonight.... that often times by the time I realize there IS a problem, God is already working out a solution.. and I often need DO very little, except TRUST and be open to guidance. This is definitely a program of Action. but that doesn't mean I need to ACT on everthything. Sometimes, to just BE STILL is the best way to not screw a thing up! If I expect that God is in control, and is already aware of the problem, then I am less likely to RE-ACT.

Went out to dinner with a few ladies after the meeting too.... working on growing my level of activity with sober women... had a great time, and will do same next Wednesday. Isolation no more!

Wow, Joni, good for you!  It isn't easy to put yourself "out there". I guess one of the things that help us to grow and learn to trust again is taking risks and being vulnerable. Even now, I either do it in teeny tiny steps, checking the temperature with my big toe, or I go leaping in. No middle ground, LOL. But it's all good. Either way, I learn, and the lessons we're handed may make our teeth sort of itch, but the alternative, the guardedness and mistrust that seem to grow in isolation, isn't nearly as fun, eh?   Kudos to you!   hug, Chris

Reminds me of a saying... Happiness is like a butterfly, if you chase it down it will elude you but if you sit quietly, it may alight upon you.

Joni, good job engaging the fellowship. Imo, that's the most overlooked part of the program. We gleen sobriety from those people who "have what we want".

Joni,
Nicely done.  My sponsor reminds me that GOD walks in front of us.  Never behind us.  Things always seem to work themselves out if we stop trying to play GOD.
The other things he tells me is:  if I don't know what to do, do nothing.  Also, if I don't know what to say, say nothing.  That reminder has kept this little control freak out of a lot of trouble.  biggrin

Glad to see you are going to the meetings after the meeting.

A large part of my sobriety came from the meetings before the meeting and the meetings after the meeting when we would go out for coffee and/or dessert.  It's different than the regular meetings in that over coffee and dessert you can ask questions as many and as often as you would like to.
