I was browsing around tonight... and for the next week on TV Land... there is an old "Leave It To Beaver" dealing with alcoholism.... couldn't see a year but the show is in black and white... I thought if you've got a half hour to kill you might enjoy it...

It will be "gone" on July 23rd....

Sadly... no it isn't. It is an old acquaintance of Ward's and he cons Beaver into getting him the family's brandy... and for a little bit Ward and June shame Beaver for getting the guy drunk... it is actually quite a half hour show

Huh,

I thought I'd seen EVERY episode at least three or four times (a favorite when I was a kid--used to watch when I came home from school), but I don't ever remember seeing this one.

I just watched Bonanza the other day... and a stable-hand for the Cartwrights' is a drunken Irish guy.... his mom came sailing over from Ireland to visit unannounced... Ben and the boys pretended that it was HIS pondarosa, and that they were the help.... long story short, the Irish dude drank and gambled away his mother's money for her return trip to Ireland... but then he somehow gambled again SOBER and got the money back, plus enough money for him to go back to Ireland with her, for good.....

LOL Moral? If you are going to gamble, don't drink..... (???? any other ideas???) How about if you are going to do ANYTHING with money.... don't drink (especially where your mother's wellbeing is concerned)
