Hi, Just thought I would Introduce myself. My SD is 28/5/2008 and from the UK.

How do I access the online meetings ?

Up until recently I have been doing 1 meeting a day, Which is great at the start, but as things have settled down, and life is growing as it does, doing daily meetings is getting harder, so im looking at ways to cross the bridge to normal living !!

Has anyone any tips to find balance with meetings and life biggrin

David

Welcome, David!

Nice to meet you. I have almost 23 months, and I have two home groups that I make almost without fail. They're on Friday and Sunday night, so they kind of bookend the weekend for me nicely. I've found that I miss having a weekday meeting, though, so I try to add one in as needed. I also go on speaking commitments, which takes me to a lot of different meetings outside my immediate area.

David,

Welcome to MIP visit and share often.

I have not attended an on line meeting so I can't help you there.

I find balance with meetings and life is sometimes elusive for me.

I have to have a sponsor who had worked the steps that I can ask the type of question about balance that you ask.

I went to daily meetings much longer than two years, but we all progress at different rates.

What does your sponsor say?

Another consideration is about balance between AA and Life is where you
are in the 12 steps.  Again your sponsor knows you best and is in the best position to suggest the next right thing.

Hello David and welcome to the board. Our "online meetings" are hit or miss. Not had luck with consistent meetings. There is a link in the sticky thread AA stuff... to a site with regular AA meetings.

HI David,
Welcome to MIP smile.gif

Tips .... my experience is all I can really share. And that is that I dont make AA meetings my life. I have many other interests that include but are not limited to : family, friends, a job, hobbies, civic/community commitments and time for Me.

When I keep myself involved in all the above and manage it all with the correct amount of time for each, then Im balanced. When I get out of whack ( and I do quite often ) I sit back and pray and ask God to help me get a better perspective of my life and then Imake the necessary changes.

Cheers for the welcome.

Ive heard a few people share about online meetings, so thought I would give it a try.

I seem to find it difficult to break routine, I had the same routine when drinking and now have a sober routine, any change and I dont know what to do with my time. All or nothing kind of guy.

Im not a big people type of person, so dont really get involved in the local soap opera aa, pretty much have a few trusted aa friends and keep my head down.

I practice the steps to the best of my ability, in all my life, and things are generally ok,

I took last night off from a meeting, tired after work, had a bath and went and did my weekly shoping. But I felt guilty and a bit lost.

Dave, from another Yorkshireman, if you find your local meetings soap opera, maybe try some others?
Welcome here and remember the world is split into two distinct groups, those born in Yorkshire and those who wish they were.
