Hey all... It's been a long time.

Was just poking around on here and decided I should say hello and give you all an update.  Just finished Phase 1 of my outpatient program, which I really liked.  It was a small women's-only group adn the facilitator was fantastic. I've made a few good friends on the program and we now have a weekly dinner date together.  One of them lives very nearby and will be attending my home group meeting with me.  Good stuff, but a little nervous to start Phase 2, which is once a week but still women-only.

I've had my ups and downs, but have been sober for a month and a half now. I've had my moments, but have way too much to lose if any "experimenting" went awry.

My family is good; hubby just ran a 100-miler so I guess it's my turn to pick it up a notch. Not a lot of motivation to get going, but I think the momentum will help once I get there. Right now, I feel like I'm wearing a wetsuit, but things could be worse!

Kids are good and enjoying summer--as am I.  First time I've ever really gotten tan; we've been at the pool a lot and, despite being a big fan of high-numbered SPF, I'm slowing developing pigment in my skin!

I have some questions and concerns for you all, but will post them later.  Right now I'm going to enjoy the quiet house, a cup of coffee, and start catching up on you all.

Peace,
me

Hi Laurie,
glad that all is going well for you. I was just thinking about you yesterday when someone posted about "no running at lately" or something like that. Stick around and enjoy the fellowship. smile.gif

Hi Laurie.... so good to see you here and doing well. I can remember when you were completely against the idea of outside help... and were ashamed to talk about your problem with family.... just look how far you have come, with a little willingness and honesty.

I have been struggling. It is not pleasant, nor fun, nor happy. But I have a week sober today, and I am hanging on to that. I am open to any outside help I may need, and very open and honest about what is going on with me, with family and friends. I'll leave the details with them, and my AA support. Thanks for your great example.

And yes!! high-test SPF!! (from my dermatology work experience for years)... you can get all the tan you want, just do it safely!! Sounds lovely :o)
