I miss her too. She can pull it together...I wish I could go to her house. She'd hear from me, I promise. Not in the Alanon way,either. I feel like she is my friend.

Personally, I have no reason to lie...I'm just here...Bill W. was a liar in so many ways, and the last treatment center I was at (Called "The Harbours of Brentwood" Maryland Farms in Middle Tennessee) sucked, and cost out the ass...like 30,000 grand.

So many there were Bull shitters, and they thought I was too...when I was to some degree but not as most were there.

How does one handle that? I handled it, though...I had to.

Think you might be very confused.....ok, to give you a little background....I was for a long time signed in as Toni Baloni,
then someone on this Board,urged me to change my name, drop the last name and change it....so I did that about 10
mpnths ago..I changed it to Just Toni, as highlighted in the Post your AA Birthdate....

As a courtesy to you, I sent you a PM yesterday, just so you would not worry about Joni, as stated, I had received a very brief email from her.....because I had also been worried about her.....with all that is going on in her life.....

Joni is a good friend of mine, we have corresponded for many years via email, she lives in Ohio, was married, and I am a single person, have been for many years, and I live in California...

So this mornings PM from you this morning....asking me if I am a lie, and god-d - n me if I am.....this is very very inappropriate stuff to be writing, and I found it very offensive...

I believe years ago, on the Alanon Board, Joni was listed as Joni Baloney, and on the MIP Board, I was listed as Toni Baloney...so I can certainly understand someone being confused if they read both boards, BUT ONE NAME IS JONI
AND ONE NAME IS TONI...

In September, on the 12th, I will have 20 years of continueous sobriety, one day at a time......I believe in the 12 Steps of this Awesome AA Program..

Sorry to be so abrupt with you this morning, but honestly I have never ever received a PM calling me a liar and ACCUSING me of using cus words.....for the obvious reasons I will not be sharing my PM to you on this forum, but I do believe I will forward to Dean or Daniella, one of the moderators on this board, to show what it was that I actually sent you in PM.

I cherish this MIP Board, and will not stand for someone accusing me of lying, and cussing...

I feel angry, no doubt it shows....but Janet, it is, what it is.

You might want to go and study the Post on AA Birthdays to familiarize yourself with the Birthdays and the names of the people on this MIP Board...

Any further discussion on this issue I would appreciate you directed to one of the Moderators, and not to me...

wow, so much anger of a misconception. but that is what alcoholics do. turn pebbles into mountains... i know cuz i have done it.
look inside and take care of business, don't splatter it on all your friends.... but even if you do splatter nastiness on those who love you, fellow AAs know where you are coming from and will be waiting for your miracle to happen.

Hey Janet,
I don't know if you picked up on it or not, but Toni is really not mad at you, but just needs to straighten up a misconception. She is being straightforward and assertive, but not mean and vindictive. She, like all of us are here to keep each other sober. We are all alcoholics and as such, we recognize that we are all on a thin chemical line, and it really seems to me that you are coming across as a bit "wired". My downfall is caffene. I am not sure whats going on in your world, but if you want to open it up, this is a great place to do it. If it was me, I would just offer up an apology as in making ammends, and press on. I have "known" Toni for a couple years on this board, and I assure you there is no more level headed person on this forum (excepting of course, she did not like the movie Anchorman--and I am thinking she will come around on that)

Hi guys,

I miss Joni, too.

I first got to know Joni when I joined this board a little over four years ago. I am now so very glad to be able to call her a good friend of mine. When I joined this board Toni was a Moderator at the time.

Although Joni and I live on opposite sides of the Atlantic we email each other almost every day; we send each other cards and gifts through the post having swapped addresses; we have also swapped 'phone numbers and have had several, lovely 'phone chats with each other.

Joni is one of the most genuine people that I know. I am truly lucky to be able to count her as a friend. MIP is lucky that she posts here as we all benefit from her experience and wisdom.

Joni happens to be busy right now which is why she isn't posting. I just hope that the poster removes her hurtful nonsense before a genuine person gets hurt and that she gives an apology where it is needed.

OMG, the way misunderstandings take on a life of their own!

LOL, believe it or not, my cat Lexie (I actually was posting other places as Lexie when I adopted the kitten, and then named her after my online alias) was named BY THE SHELTER "Joanie Baloney". So far as I know, she does not post on any forums, but I do wonder when I come home and find emails started on my laptop that are addressed to xhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsssssssssssssssssssslolylllllllllllllllz88888888888888.

If you get any posts about cross-addictions to catnip, let me know. Maybe I should start taking her to meetings.

Good Morning Janet,

Eary this morning, sort of made a decision to not to MIP this am. Just had all my carpeted floors cleaned by Stanley Steamer last Friday, they move at no cost all my furniture in my bedroom around, so have a ton of stuff that I need to attend to to get my bedroom back in order.

Just opened my mail, and saw that I had a note from you. and awe those sweet expectations will get you every time...

So I signed into MIP, assuming that I would see a Thank You from you.....and not what was written.

I live alone and very peacefully, and when I read, what was I accused of, just felt anger.....

Now over it, so please Janet dont let this deter you from coming back to MIP....we alkies are all sensitive...and even when we work hard at being more thick skinned, it does not always happen that way.....

All is well, so I hope to see you soon on the MIP board.

I'm really hoping that when I have more sober time I begin to "get" the humor in Anchorman. "We are not a glum lot..."! However, I am finding that I laugh during a sobering story, and sometimeworry it's inappropriate. Thank God my sponsor told me that in AA people can find humor in shared heartwreching truths about the wretchedness of the disease.
