Welcome Jamie. I dont think youre a creep buddy. Just like the rest of here, you likely got stuck in the alcohol addiction lane, and as the rest of us are doing, trying to learn to live a better life sober.

Some of us just cant drink alcohol--its that simple.

Glad you found us. --lotta support on this board.

You got things to share, and tests on a daily basis, that youre trying to handle sober?

We are here for yu buddy. This disease creeps up on us at any age.

I sometimes wish I could have surrendered to it at 20 but had to go on a lot of destructive roads before giving in to that first step.

Welcome again our freind. you are never alone, and we are here for you--keep on truckin buddy-one day at a time.   Luv yu.   Phil

There are young peoples meetings.  I know how you feel my dad draged me to a meeting many years ago. I was to young it wasn't for me!! I had to go on for many years before I chose to do something about the problem. It was always there and got worse and worse.

You are never to young. I talked to 2 young people the other day. One hit a tree and was lucky she didn't get killed. She did get a dwi and so did her husband when he drove up in another car to see if she was ok. 2 youg people two dwi's-- no money-- What's next?

I take a drink and the drink takes me-- to where ever it wants!! Theres some really good people on here. We do care!!   We have been there!!  So welcome and good luck!  Just keep coming back!  You only have today to be sober, may not even be here tommorrow.  GOD only knows.  I was thinking about the couple and the dwi's and Your post really made me think.  These disiease is cunning baffiling and powerful and it has time to wait for us. You are no creep, you just have a problem. ALCOHOLISM  jUST LIKE THE REST OF US.

GOOD LUCK   HANG IN THERE   RICK

Hi Jamie,

20 months, what a miracle. I had my first drink at 14 and was a full fledged alkie that same night...it took me 22 years to realize it. I am so glad you are here...us old folks are just doing the same thing you are doing, reaching out to other alcoholics, looking for people that talk the same talk as we do.

As Rick said, there are young people meetings and there is no age requirement to be a member of AA...just a desire to stop drinking, one day at a time. My first sponsee was 14 yrs old when she came in...and is still sober after 2 yrs.

You have friends here...keep coming back.

Love, cheri
