"Suppose we fall short of the chosen ideal and stumble? Does that mean we are going to get drunk? Some people tell us so. But this only a half-truth. It depends on us and our motives. If we are sorry for what we have done, and have the honest desire to let God take us to better things, we believe we will be forgiven and will have learned our lesson. If we are not sorry, and our conduct continues to harm others, we are quite sure to drink." pg 70. This is one of the few occasions where the program of AA does not say we might drink. It is very emphatic in the way it tells about a relapse. There is no question about what would happen if we breach this part of recovery. Many people say we do not know why we picked up a drink. Oh alcohol is cunning baflling and powerful. We know that but that's not the reason why we relapse. If we study the book and take note of these pointers , many a newcomer could save themselves much heartache.
I've always paid attention to that because that it was the one place it says we are quite sure to drink, interesting because although it is true for me I have watched a number of people flaunt it and remain sober

The type of stumbling I do now (learning from mistakes and trial and error) is WAY WAY preferable to the kind I did before. I was literally a fall down drunk for the last year or so.
