Did anyone see that movie? I found it quite depressing but Jeff Bridges totally depicted the character of a broken down alcoholic. He was so believable, I could almost smell the sour ole booze & sweat & other body fluids. I think for us alcoholics that movie is a pretty good wake up call as to what we used to look like & how we used to behave.
yes, i watched it with my husband. he had more trouble watching it than i did and i am the alcoholic. it reminded me of how hopeless i am when i drink. it touched on a lot of different feelings and i said "hooray!" when he found his way to the rooms of AA
Hey Carlotta, how you doing??I remember as a kid of around 10 my moms taking me to the theater and we saw"Days of Wine and Roses with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick and I thought how the heck did they get like that /Two years later I was sneaking booze from the closet and filling bottles with water so my moms wouldn't know...I was on my run,my moms was a closet alcoholic and I followed suit, but it was no secret in my life...By the time I enterd the service in 1965,I was a full blown drunk and using street drugs. When we see these kind of movies of "our lives"we can only fall on our knees in gratitude for the mercy and grace of our HP. Thank God for the rooms and the solution to our dilemma, our steps, traditions and concepts...
