"RU a friend of Bill's"?

Had my first "RU a friend of Bill's" question today. Was on the train this AM and reading today's entry in Daily Reflections and guy across me asked that. I smiled and said yes.

Turned out that he was visiting from another country for three weeks. I gave him some meetig tips on local meetings and after we yacked about where he was from and where I was from the rest the of time.

Love this fellowship! God willing, I will have many more friend of Bill conversations...

Steve

Those are great aren't they?

I put a campfire meeting on once on a beach in the middle of nowhere, there was like 150 of us as it got dark, and these 2 campers came to see what all the fuss was about.

Turned out they were 2 sober back-packers from Europe that had been dying to find a meeting, and there we were.

such a beautiful thing.

It is amazing how many different ways we can carry the message. Im not much on coincidences so I view these situations as people being guided by their HP just as  I was years   ago . Thanks for sharing that happening in your life it is warmth for us all! Only by the grace of God......smile

One time in March one year while waiting for a flight out of O'Hare an anouncement was made would anyone Who Is A Friend of Bill W. Please come to Gate # xxxx.

By the time I got there, there were 3 others.  We all introduced ourselves and went over to a quiet corner and had a small First Step meeting.

If I have the time have answered up to other anouncements like that.  Been at Train and Bus stations also when the call wnet out.

Niiiice. It's great how we all know. I love our Secret Society!
Our little town, with three seperate home-groups, has developed our own underground greeting; "Are you a Friend I haven't met yet?"

It's neat.

Peace,
Rob

Over here I used the are you a friend I haven't met yet and was taken to be a freemason.

I recall one time I was staying in a hotel for two nights. So I emptied the booze out of the minibar, put it in a spare carrier bag (tip - always take a spare carrier bag to the hotel for just this reason) and took it back to reception and asked them to not refill the minibar. At the time I was in early days.

When I got back the next night, the damn minibar had been re stocked. So I did the same again. Next morning, checking out and there was a minibar bill of around £70 on the final invoice. I'm just about to explain when the duty manager came across, asked if I were a friend of Bill W's. Of course I said I was, he turned back the lapel of his jacket to show a small circled triangle in gold and told the receptionist to delete that item.

Had one of those last week, when I found out the president of the condo, that I was working on, was a 14 year member.
