Joni,

Wow,  Great food and a great place to call home.

Thanks for the invite. You have more friends praying for you than you realize.

Larry,

Larry, I stayed AWAY from there today, so I could get this week's research paper done EARLY (not due til Monday but it is completed and turned in now). I had the silly notion, after ALL I HAVE BEEN THROUGH WITH H.A.L.T. lately, to go over there at 11pm and just "piddle around"..... yah, and probably stay up til 4am!!! NO NO NO NO NO. I don't want to feel hungry angry lonely and tired tomorrow, at least not due to my own stupidity. LOL Someone has punctured a teeny hole in my iron head, just enough so that a teeny ray of light is shining through....

LOL I am THRILLED too, Oblong!!! And can you believe, it is only $500 a month??????? AND I get to keep my dog and cat with me, AND it is in an extremely safe part of town. God is smiling on me, He always was, even when I was doubting that I deserved anything good. I never "deserved" anything but to give myself a chance. God gives this stuff to us by Grace. I am not preaching religion, I am just telling you what Higher Power can do in a shattered person's life. This is just the icing on the cake of having another chance to live life sober.

Yay!! (feeling shitty one minute, and then grateful the next... what a ride!!)

That's an unbelievable price. I pay 825 for a tiny bachelor. (that means I don't even have a bedroom to myself! I DO have a beautiful balcony that I love though.

You should consider yourself lucky, that was quite a little find!

I too have a balcony!! Although I will be sharing it with another tenant across from me. I actually have to leave my apartment and go out another door to get to it though. Last night I wsa checking it out, and there was an empty beer bottle left on a little patio table. My Hope?? That a "heavy drinker" would not leave just ONE beer bottle out there (ugh). But I do not plan on getting to know any of the other tenants. I plan to be cordial in the hallway, but to ignore them completely. I like my privacy. It is imperative that I have privacy with neighbors, that is just the way I am. Well, I am leaving a neighborhood of houses, so it goes without saying I am no longer, at 38, in "college dorm mode". LOL

Just another reason to say my morning prayers every day, asking God to KEEP me sober.

While I do not by any means live in the "boonies", my city is small and quaint. I feel lucky to be here. I once lived right in downtown Seattle (Queen Anne Hill) and an efficiency with a Murphy bed was $750/mo., and that was 20 YEARS ago!!!

The flat looks great, spaciousand airy, good light, fantastic floors, bigrads, wonderful fireplace. Can't join you in the Chinese food though, run out of points - just had meatballs and spaghetti - and I still have a few lbs to lose. Lost 2.5 this week, total lossover 6 weeks or so is 19.5lbs, or 37 packets of lard.

Nice Digs, Joni!

I used to sell furniture. Many awkward moments. Furniture purchases are driven by 4 predictable and perpetual things; marriage, birth, death and divorce.

So anyway, after many awkward moments of a woman starting our conversations with "I'm getting divorced...." I found the right response....

"So, what's in order today; condolences or congratulations?" smile.gif

Nice apartment!

Peace,
Rob

Can't believe I missed this thread!  I'll start with the one of the prawns if there's any left, and then the spring roll wrap.  $500/ month- I should move there.  That place is gorgeous.  Love all the light.  I love my house, but it's dark.  I have to go out in the rain and peer through the clouds for some light-you remember how it was in Seattle.  There's no good Chinese food in my town.  We have to drive 45  to get to the good stuff.  I moved here from the east coast where you could get good Chinese until 2 or 3 am.  Yum, thanks for sharing.
