It's awesome you know you're an alcoholic at such an early age. I can't stress enough that if you want to stay sober AA is the ONLY way to do it. You won't be lonely anymore, either, I promise. AA is a wonderful fellowship. I am on day 16 of sobriety after drinking for 25 yrs and I too was scared to stop due to loseing friends, boyfriends etc. But when I finally made that step and went to an AA meeting, I'd never felt so alive and so loved. We do lots of other things too, like the 4th of July we had our own party and I've been to member's home's to cookout and swim, etc. I was amazed at how much fun a bunch of sober drunks could be and how much these people TRULY care about ME. I had a great time. We did all the things I would normally do except drink. And the best part, I didn't have to worry about how I was going to get home...... so, please, consider AA and if nothing else just check out ONE meeting........ If you'd like to chat with another woman who's been there just recently, please feel free to email me at HarleyluvinHunny@wmconnect.com

Hope to hear from you

Love and peace

Hi AJ...

I wanted to add my welcome. I know at 19 it seems that everyone is out doing the party thing, but this is not really true. You might call the university you will be attending and see if they have some young people's AA meetings. You would be able to meet some people your age that have sober fun. One of the girls I first sponsored was 14 when she came in...she started organizing monthly activities for our group...bowling, campouts, picnics...so that people could ahve fun and remain sober. It's out there, but you have to look for it sometimes.

Keep coming back...

Love, cheri
