Precisely because it bothered me to "waste" it down the drain, I hearby put it in writing that I just got out of bed to dump out a half a bottle of Jagermeister which I found  burrowed in the back of the freezer a few months ago.  I don't know if it was mine from last year(it was one of my fave liquors) or my husband's rainy day leftovers.  (For those that don't already know, since working the AA program and sobriety I have continued to live with a drinker and serve alcohol, with out excessive bother.)  The last straw that got me out of bed was the idea that the "cult" might have warped my mind(say what?), physical salivation, and the thought that I could finally see how an alcoholic goes from all is calm and well, to throwing back the booze in an instant.

Briefly, it occurred to me that my husband might ask where the empty bottle came from if it wasn't his, but, in honor of Earth Day I am recycling the bottle.

Now I will finish with a cancer stick and try to get back to observing HALT.

Thank you for witnessing.

God that is funny!!  Was that done on a full night's sleep or is it a permanent
condition.  We do get our senses of humor back when sober.  We are not a glum
lot!!  Tks much smile

The "cult" might have warped my mind (LOL)

I was always told by my sponsor that AA would ruin my drinking

Great Post

Yep Larry they told me they might not stop me drinking, but they sure as hell would spoil it for me, and they bloody well did too!!! I dunno where all them bloody alkies came from everytime I dropped out!!

I only had to leave my home and go a few yards before I bumped into an AA member - GOD was I EVER paranoid about that!! I would try to press my self into (or right through) the sodding wall so they wouldn't see me, but they would yell, 'Hey Avril, not seen you in a while, how you doin'? (As if they didn't know) I would say, 'Oh great, thanx, yeah am doing fine'

I wonder if THEY shared about seeing ME next time they went to their meeting? Yer know, like I do when I see a relapsed member in town. I don't mention them by name, just that I saw somoene who looked so bad it made it much easier for me to not drink today.

Well have to say as far as a "cult", most end in utter misery and possible death....but ours is just the opposite, out of utter misery and into LIFE!!!!  (say What?) tehe!

Yes you desribed that salivating, heart beating fast, and so glad you threw it down the drain.....
Good work.....!!!!

Your friend,

 Tonicakes
