Full blown man flu kicked in again.

My head feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool, I ache all over, I'm drinking fluids like crazy, slept 4 hours last night, throat is dry and raw, nose is running off my face and I have what a doctor might call a productive cough. My teeth all ache, I'm peeing like a fountain and have the most incredible flatulence.

Doubtless I'll have infected eyes by Friday, if history is anything to go by.

Sometimes this is as good as sobriety gets.

And it's still the right thing, the best thing.

Still - it's not self inflicted misery from a bottle and I don't need or want to drink today.

6 hours of restless sleep last night, then up for a brew and a breath of air. sat at the back door and watched the scaredy cat creeping round the yard, getting buzzed by rooks and magpies, then went back to bed for another hour or so.

I'm at my desk, on my 3rd pint of tea in 90 minutes, took the meds as prescribed. Feel slightly better, there just might be every chance that I'll see another sunset. Eyes are dry and gritty, nose is dry and blocked, still pretty achy and the flatulence is unbelievable. The duvet was stuck to the ceiling this morning, like sleeping under a zeppelin. Some times it's a blessing to live alone.

thankfully I have another 5 days before I need to hit the road, so there's every chance I'll be fit enough by then.
