I am still having major probs with my 'puter, and after ten minutes online, it is so SLOW, I lose the will to live.  Thank God JC is back in a couple of weeks, and I'm sure he will manage to sort it out, or find someone who can - I have only just managed to reconnect the printer after having everything reformatted.  I know sweet FA about computers, except that they are great when they work, but F****ng annoying when they don't.

I have come clo9se to launching the whole lot out the window a few times I can tell you.  JC is talking about getting a new one when he gets back.  I will keep dropping in from time to time until we get it sorted, then I'll be back bugging you all like before. biggrin

Avril,

If its any consolation to you mine is slow too.  I think its a lack of memory oh yes the computer could also use more memory. LOL

My biggest problem with the computer is that I wish they would make one that knew
what I ment to type instead of what I actually typed.

Avril, if you'll email me at tessa_wv@yahoo.com maybe I can help you get your PC running a tad faster unless there's another problem associated with it. Larry, you can email me also or anyone else. Lots of programs run 24/7 that slows down your PC. I can help you set up your system resourses. I'd be glad to help you get it sorted out. But, since this isn't a computer forum email me.;)

get a mac when it's time to get a new one. I'm only on my 3rd mac in 15 years, and the second is still running well in NC. I've never had a PC but I've heard the horror stories.

I'd thought about getting a Mac once & found a Mac notebook (or whatever a macs called) anyway couldn't figure out how to set it up!

Avril, So great to hear from you!  I was just thinking how much I missed your voice around here.  Sorry about the tech problems.  Mine was seizing up a few months back, I have no idea why but like magic it seems to be working fine now.  It's hard enough to figure out how to be a good human, keep the auto, dog, and partner happy, much less the confounded computer.   Do depend on it in sobriety for this site, so here's some positive thoughts.

Tessa, I might need to hire you too!  I was told the same about constant running programs that slow things down.  I have plenty of memory, at least the computer kind, but I'm such a techno bungler.  My computer programming friend hates helping greenies and "working" in his off time.

Angel, just toss me an email @ the above address & I'll send you the info. I'm not promoting anything or advertising. Computers is my hobby & I'm hoping to get into some classes in the fall on tech assistance. I need the practice! Also, you can't hire me...I don't charge!!;)

I am a Mac believer. Both my children have Mac Books that have taken a huge amount of "abuse" and still run fast without a hitch. Good luck!!
