got my brake discs!

If this works, there should be a picture of a pair of brand new old stock brake discs. If not, just use your imagination!

Just to clarify, I have waited almost a year for these - patience and tolerance - in the 'good' old days maybe I would've said the hell with the waiting and either drove with faulty brakes, sold the bike on to someone without telling them about the brakes or just shoved the bike in the corner and said sod it.

In any event, this would have been a cracking excuse to get drunk, both while waiting and when receiving. So maybe not strictly all about alcoholism but pertinent to recovery from - a demonstration that life sometimes gets better, often is difficult, but we can learn new ways of living which means that a drunk is not a solution (nor even a very good idea) and that if we are patient, put the appropriate work in and manage our expectations, things work out in the end.

What do you ride?

I just had to sell my Bandit 1200 for financial reasons

/wrists

Already thinking about my next one though

**edit to address Bill's edit which appeared after I posted**

Absolutely, it's scientifically proven that being on two wheels while exceeding 100mph assists with a conscious contact, that and surfing absolutely fall under step 11

Apart from a blast down the autobahn last year, I haven't exceeded any speed limits anywhere since I got sober, well in fact I haven't exceeded any speed limits anywhere as the autobahn is no limits.

I still shudder at riding from Birmingham to home (just under 100 miles) in 55 minutes after a few beers, racing 'cos I needed a pee and wanted to use my own toilet. Crazy stuff.

How'd I track them down? A last despairing trawl of eBay. Turns out the vendor had bought them in 2004 for a customer who never collected. He then decides to have a clear out of the waiting collection shelf and let them go for what he paid for them.

I'm still having another pair made though, the originals only lasted 30 000 miles.
