Starting to have some success!

Hey all.
Just wanted to say that I'm starting to have some success with a new meeting a friend and I started! Starting to have some success with my sobriety too!
I am celebrating an anniversary tomorrow. 37 years of life! It's nice to look forward to a sober birthday. I am really starting to feel that I have recovered from this seemingly hopeless state of mind that our Book talks about!
Anyways, our meeting last night went from the four of us that originally attended to a room full! Very cool.........
I'm just checking in and letting ya know that this program works if you let it. That is the awesome news for today!

Lovely, Justin. It's wonderful to see a group grow that we've nursed from its beginnings. I'm always heartened to see so many with this shared desire to stop drinking & live sober :) Danielle x

Congrats! It sounds like what you are doing relates to that saying "You build self-esteem by doing esteemable acts." Starting the meeting, reaching out to others more on here even. You are living the program Justin. Nice to see.

Justin,

Congrats on starting the new meeting and your growth and happiness in soberity.

I think the key to AA groups is to keep as may people active and participating as possible, whether the group is large or small does not matter, the point of a group or meeting is to help folks stay sober.

Be a trusted servant, turn it over to God, and don't attach your ego to a meeting or group.

Good luck!

Yes...and this would be a convenient way of making you learn the traditions (not saying you don't know them...just an opportunity)...I didn't know or grasp them until I had to secretary business meetings.
