but eventually I turned it off.

I have a man cold again, not as bad as last time as I went to the chemist for some remedy before getting too ill. Yesterday morning I woke up with one eye glued shut - got some sort of infection in my left eye. Bathed it, looked at it (big bloodshot thing going on here, much worse than when I was drinking) left eye like a sheep's arse.

Went to bed last night, the head starts, if you leave this untreated, you'll go blind like Christine did.

so did i think about going to the all night pharmacy for some eye drops? No, i lay there and wondered if I could still ride a motorbike with one eye. what if it spread to the other eye? that one's getting itchy. How the hell do I do things blind? How do you light a smoke, get to the barbers, do a job?

By 2 this morning I'd researched Blind rehab facilites. Then it struck me. Pray you fool!

Dear God, please don't let me go blind, (repeat and repeat) until a flash of clarity, you can't ask for favours like that, Dear God, please help me live with whatever happens (and repeat) Finally I got it. Dear God please let the chemist be open tomorrow and have some eye drops on the shelf.

Duh!

washing machine stops, I sleep well, woke up this morning, both eyes glued shut. Dilemma. Do I peel my eyelids apart and probably pee myself, or do I blunder down the stairs to the toilet and wave it about until it sounds right? Managed to do the latter, bathed my eyes open, cleaned the toilet floor, went to chemist, got the antibacterial eye drops, one in each hour, every hour on the hour for 48 hours, then one in each eye every 4 hours for the next 72 hours (not including sleepy time time).

being the big wuss that I am putting eye drops in is a bit of a struggle, but I'm managing. Now my eyes have stopped leaking glue but feel like they're filled with sand instead.

Howdy,
With a faint smile of recognition I will confess that I seem to keep
my washing machine well maintained.
The sand goes away.

thank you, Bill, for the colorful story and filling me in on 'washing machine' cycles in the night....  this story will help me remember to pray when i wake up on the spin cycle that won't stop on its own.
hugs

Yep, the floor, the seat, the wall, finally heard waterfall splashing noises. Maybe I should've sat down?

Glad you laughed, I love it when people laugh with me, hey, I see from your other post that you're bored - come on over and clean my bathroom floor!

Well spotted Leeu. Love to weave lyirics into text.

My team at work have a monthly team call - we usually set each other a challenge to get a phrase ot fragment of a lyric into the meeting - but must be in context and not contrived. Livens up really boring meetings.

We also play buzz word bingo - run it up the flagpole, raise the bar, deep dive etc.

I LOVE buzz-word bingo! On The Same Page should be the bloody center square!
Okay...I won't laugh at what sounds like a wicked case of pink-eye. That sux! But I am laughing at
"Maybe I should've sat down?"

Simple, perfect solution. BUT...NO! We're MEN and we'd rather pee on the floor, walls, etc. than give up our standing perogative.

Too darned funny!

Oh...seems you still have the same job?

Same job. Same team, same manager, my fears were not realised - I guess I'm just not that important - on leave today, going up to my Mum's for lunch.
