Just thought Id share! Last time I went almost 60 days but didn't follow the suggestions etc. I just got back from my 10th meeting in 7 days and have never felt better. I still have not had any urges to drink these 7 days and just wanted to share that if I can do it anyone can! Thanks to everyone on this board for all their insight and help. I could not do it alone!

First week is the hardest week, congrats! Steve. 90/90 is the way to go. It didn't work for me to I did that. I felt so good that I didn't miss a meeting for 3.5 years. Just goes to show you that we can get compulsive about our program too, but that's a good thing.
Great Steve...stay in the day and get out your calender. The 90/90 is what I did also; just one day/meeting at a time. Keep and open mind...don't drink and don't think. Let the program work you for the first 90 days. Keep coming back.
Thanks so much, I went to my 11th meeting in 7 days earlier tonight and my sponsor said he can see the changes in me already, I asked what he meant and he said your "just there" and he seen I was talking more etc... It feels so great to know that I am doing the right thing and that my higher power is always right beside me helping me get through each day happy and sober!

Well done Steve really proud of you!!!!!!!!! dont look at people who have been sober longer than you with envy, take each day as it comes, there will be good days and bad its as hard or as easy as you want to make it, be proud of yourself! You keep me sober, by you not drinking cos if you can do it I can. Thx
HA!! I was just gonna be the first to say - HAPPY 11TH DAY OF SOBRIETY - But I was a tad too late. Good onya, Steve, as the longest journey begins with the first step - that is also true of recovery. It IS a long journey, a journey with no end until I croak, I like to believe, but that first step is all important.
