I have grown more and become happier than ever before. Thanks to AA.
Consistently cleaning house via steps #4-#10 are such a beatiful way to live; no remorse, no regrets, no dishonesty and I have recovered a sense of honor and chivalry that when I was a young teenager I admired. I can now live a life of integrity.

I'm a better Dad. Still not perfect, but hell...who is? The little pink wrigglers don't come with manuals and all we have to go by is how our parents f**ked us up!

Anyway, what I'm doing is trying t keep busy to keep from smoking and this is good.

Love ya'll,
Rob

Aloha AM...program helped me reach a position of acceptance and truth and then the
forgiveness and love that was necessary to have a relationship with my parents.  I was
given the idea that they did the best they could with what they had...worked on the
reality of it keeping my self centeredness and self pity out of the picture.   Stopped
whining and blaming as a usual way of handling my limited recovery and then forgave
them all real and imagined hurts I carried around with me for over 30 years.  They
both were stunned at first and pleased soon after that I had lost my fear and resistance
of having them in my life.  The outcome was a miracle for us all.  When I let them off
the hook they gained freedom.   smile

Great post as usual AM. Very insightful. That was just how I felt (and still do) about the program. The honesty and fearless inventory end up making you comfortable with yourself, keeps you humble, gives you empathy, and keeps you on a quest for spirituallity. Lets pray we can all keep those things one day at a time.

Congrats in getting this good, Rob. I'm proud of your progress & made up you're smoke-free right now 1Day@aTime. If you get any crazy cravings, don't give in & the goal is yours. I'm smoke-free 18mths now & I'm so grateful for this achievement & gift of recovery. Keep up the good work. It's obvious how loving you are. It pours out of you. Loving recovery, Danielle x
