A much smaller meeting than normally, we had it in the kitchen around a big table. Maybe a dozen of us, and this meeting is usually 30-40+........
anyway, it was a really awesome meeting. I hadn't planned on going and 15 minutes before it started I just decided to go. So glad I did. My Christmas Miracle is that i'm sober, 6 1/2 months of growth and good life..........starting my 8th step this weekend.
I am mostly just writing this to express my gratefulness and thankfulness for this program and the people in it, and to my higher power to whom I have given my life over to and to whom has kept me sober.
Last Christmas I was drunk. This Christmas I have hope. God bless you all!
Heya TS...great post. Thanks for sharing your experience, strength, and hope. I also find that the small meetings are often the most spiritual and I take away a lot. I went to 2 meetings yesterday...1 of them at the alcothon at the clubhouse I go to. This was my 2nd Christmas sober and the difference is striking to me. Generally speaking, I am just not as afraid of everything and I have a home in AA that I am also so grateful for. Last year I went to that Alcothon to save my own ass, this year, there was some of that, but I also went to give away what has been freely given to me and that is a big change for me. So...you echo my sentiments! Happy holidays to you and everyone else here!

In our town, we always make sure there are Christmas and New Year meetings every day of the holiday period, and from the reaction of members attending the Sunday one (Sunday is usually the one day of the week we don't hold a meeting in Barnsley) we might well be starting a regular Sunday meeting.
I woukld never have survived my first TWO Christmases had it not been for meetings being open, and AA's who were more than happy to chat to me, even at Christmas.
