Hi everyone,

Missed coming to MIP as often this month.
For newcomers, YES, sobriety is great.  I did my first sober roadtrip this weekend. Not like the roadtrips in the past and often depicted in the movies. In the past a out of town trip was often an anxiety filled occasion.  Add family to that and you have a recipe for disaster.

It was short and sweet.  My cousin had her fourth surgery to replace a pipeline between the kidneys and bladder.  This one seems to have taken and was deemed successful.  I got to visit the "old Vic"? Alano club and attended an open step meeting with my non-alcoholic mom.  She appreciated the meeting and we had some quality conversation on the drive round trip.

This was a great experience to have for the holidays and I am incredibly glad that I was sober to relax and enjoy it all.

And to Dean, ha it did rain the entire time.  But did not dampen the love and grace I shared with family while there!

lol, it's comical how much it rains there. In that the weather forecasters measure the rain in hundreths of an inch. "Today we are expecting .17 inches, misty in the morning, a light to moderate drizzle in the afternoon, and wet fog this evening." You see shopping strip malls that have nothing but stores that sell rain gear, and whole families in color coordinated rain gear (gotta love mothers lol) even the dogs have color coordinated rain gear (when I was drinking I never owned a rain coat and I worked outside no).  Oh yea and 2 starbucks at every intersection.

I must be a northwester at heart because I am "allergic" to the sun and don't mind the rain.  I don't often wear a raincoat or even own an umbrella.  I like to exercise outdoors more often in the winter, when it's not so hot.  When I lived in Fl. I rarely went outside, too hot and sunny.confuse Splish Splash, I sure love a bath.wink
