So I had a crap end to a good day. Somebody at work did something they shouldn't have done...to me...and I was instantly enraged. First call...sponsor. No answer. Second call...Friend from home-group. He reminded me that while yes, all of us are God's children and to condemn one of us is to condemn God...some of God's creatures are one-celled organisms that are never gonna get any smarter. I laughed. Good way to turn the angry away for a while.

Got home, still cranky, made dinner for kids and logged on here.

Didn't post much, just read...and read...an read.

Thanks so much for being a beautiful bunch of alkies united for one purpose; to help each other stay sober. Anger all gone; replaced by acceptance & courage. Ya'll are awesome!
aww

Rob

That was also some very very good telephone back up work to your sobriety.
One celled critters indeed and I don't even entertain that perceptiion any more
either.  People just...and they don't wake up in the morning with my name at
the top of their list!!   I once had a cop come and visit me early one morning during
the drinking years and he told me the same thing...I can't remember if he was
pleading or just informing but my self centered to the extreem attitude sure kept
them employed and almost included one of them discharging a .357 into my
sternum while a friend (?) of mine stood on the side walk cheering him on.  How
insane was that? ...and I never did find out what he was going thru to have him
do that.   I saw him years later...was that a sheepish look on his face?   Grateful
to God I had the chance to think about it during my 4th - 10th steps.   I've forgotten
the words to the song "Still crazy after all these years".

Good work...smile

Way to use the tools Rob. Usually we just hear **** like "... and there I was, just me, my resentment, and that bottle I forgot that I had hid under the seat of my car. Tell me, how could I not drink it?"
