I heard a good one tonight.... You know how its been said that we are all just an arms length away from a drink....? This guy said he's NOT an arms length away....he's actually 12 steps away.
One that I like that an Old-Timer said used to be said a lot - "Only you can do it, but you can't do it alone."
My favorite for a laugh... "It never dawned on me that I was an alocoholic. I thought I had a rare condition that made me a really bad driver with alzheimer's disease and erectile dysfunction. But only on Friday & Saturday night."

~If you don't do anything to make it better, it will get worse.
~I came to AA because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
~ALCOHOLIC: An egomaniac with an inferiority complex
~The catch 22 of recovery: You've to change your thinking to change your drinking. But to change your thinking, you've got to change your drinking.
~I know that I am not yet the person that I can be, but I thank God I'm not the person I used to be.
PS- Sorry I couldn't limit myself to one-as an alcoholic it can seem there's never enough. I have to add b/c I have trouble accepting this one: "LIVE and LET LIVE!"

MY all time favorite ever, was from a great guy in Marin, that would never close a share without saying,"All my Problems, are Are Goldplated"now, just a grateful Alcoholic in Recovery"
And how appropriate for this morning, I have a lot of home udates being done, new windows and Roof, and Saturday, did something that was a real NoNo, from a very old neck injury, got frustrated, and just went ahead anyway, and pulled this really heavy cabinet away from the window in was under. Yesterday could not walk, could not move my neck, blew out completely my range of motion in my neck, and the pain was so severe, all the way down to my toes, but that thought was in the back of my mind. Just gold plated problem.
Woke up this a.m, I could actually move my neck about 20 % on each side, so onward...
Looking forward to writing in a few days to welcome all the new people here.
Hope everyone has a very Blessed day, one and all. Toni

God's will: You can't do his will, your way
Yesterday I knew nothing today I know that.
We have a disease that tells us we don't have a disease
When I turned myself over to God, I took my life out of the hands of an idiot
Anything an alcoholic lets go of has claw marks all over it
There is no right way to do the wrong thing
Being an alcoholic is like being trapped in a box, and the instructions for getting out of the box are on the outside of the box. You need someone to read them to you (and you must listen!)
Resentments are like stray cats: if you don't feed them, they'll go away
Put down the magnifying glass and pick up the mirror
You can't save your face & your ass at the same time
When I was only a few weeks sober I said in a meeting: "The harder I try the less I can do!" Everyone started laughing even though I was very serious and then people came up to me afterward and explained HOW it works. Honesty Openness Willingness
