The awesome Power of Prayer

Hi Everyone,

This week-end, did a lot of Praying. And and a whole bunch of that silent talking to HIM.

Today, woke up feeling esspecially peaceful, and as the day has progressed, out of nowhere, filled with so much gratitude  first to HIM, my Higher Power that I definitely choose to call GOD, to our AA Program, and to all of you, and the meetings, and the 12 Steps.

Overwhelmed as i write this, and what a true Blessing I feel.
All fears or worries of any kind, gone, and we could never have done any of this without first getting sober, just putting one foot in front of the other, doing all the footwork outlined,  in this 24 hour a Day Program,  and honoring every person, place and thing that has brought me to this truly amazing little day in one little life.

I have made a commitment to doing a lot more of that week-end Prayer work, the results of that Prayer were surprising and so very humbling at the same time.

Got caught up in a lot of emotion as I wrote that out. Hope it made sense......smile That's just a little ole happy smile.

God Bless us All, and Big Hugs to all of you,

Just for today, Just Toni

If you got it ...you had to deserve it.  I have found that HP gives what we most
need and deserve without condition...Love first and other stuff after.

I am so happy to hear that you had a great spiritual mini-vacation of your own. I hope it is nothing bad or scarey that was bothering you. But prayer sure can do a heck of a lot as far as our perception. Thank God, and thank YOU for sharing and being a great example of how to put one foot in front of the other!!

Just curious, Did you meditate or say a lot of specific prayers? Or both. I ask, because my prayer time has dropped off. I only know the Serenity and 3d step prayer by heart. I'm thinking of adding more specific prayers, because, I do meditate, but it doesn't feel focused enough at times. Maybe cause I'm really just lying in bed or on the couch "thinking" I'm meditating. I'm so glad you are feeling connected to God. That is really the best. -Angela

Toni,
Thank you for the gratitude and how you got it.  I love times like you described.  I have them often and it's great.  It's like I'm in a kayak on a peaceful pond and there's not a ripple in sight.  Just like glass.  All around the pond there's storms, thunder, lightening, rain and gloomy clouds.  But, I'm peaceful and safe right in my kayak on that peaceful pond.

Angela,
It came to me with practice.  I got reminded enough by friends in the program that if I worked my program and let god sort out the details I would be provided with what I needed.  Over time it becomes faith.  My prayers aren't long but I try to mediatate all day by keeping my head clear so I can hear what gods trying to tell me.  Let go- let god.  The story in the big book- Acceptance Prayer- pg 417 was also a good one to repeat to myself.
