sober holdiay weekend!

The weather is great here and it's a great weekend.  Yesterday I visited my grandma, watched some supermoto practice at the local track, rented a jack and re-leveled my shed, did yard work, got a pallet of retaining wall blocks for a project, BBQ'd, had backyard campfire, went to a meeting, went for a motorcycle ride and watched 2 movies with my wife in the evening.  All in one day!

A year ago my day would have been get the blocks before noon, start drinking by 11 or 12, do a few of the things around the house and been uselessly drunk, blacked out or passed out by 8:00.  I was up from 4:45 till 12:30 and had a great day.

Today we are going to motorcycle races in the morning and boat races in a nearby town in the afternoon.  Who knows what else I'll be able to do or get done.  Just wanted to tell someone what a great time I'm having in sobriety, wish I could have figured this out 15 years ago without the pain that got me here but I'm very thankful for what I have and that it didn't take me another 15.

Have a great week everyone.smile
