no not currantly. I keep entertaining the idea I guess thats why i found myself on this page this evening. I have a strong belif in god and I guess i haven't fully utilized him in that i should turn my problems over to him more and let him tend to them instead of letting them weigh me down and hold me under water Or continue to punish myself for them on my own.  I'm not actualy certain what i should do now...

Hello, and welcome. I'm also fairly new here and like you I have a strong belief in God. I believe that God brings people into our lives at the right time to help us in our walk. I've been sober for a very short time and I can tell you that AA as well this site has helped me greatly. When I came here, I literally had a gun to my head, and through the help I got here and AA, I'm doing much better now. I don't think God would take the gun from me, but I believe that he led me to a place that I could find people that were /are willing to help. It hasn't been easy for me, but I'm getting the help I need, thanks to God bringing me here.

I would encourage you to go to AA, check it out. There are alot of people there willing to help. Keep coming here and keep us updated.

God bless,
MDC

ty Jane and MDC for your prompt responses. I'm sorry to carry on but the hours of 5pm and on are usualy my worst  the house falls silent and im left with nothing but my thoughts.  So im trying to occupy myself with things that are non toxic.
MDC. I'm glad you put that gun down. You know i was at a park with my daughter a year or two ago and i dont know if it was an AA meeting or not but there was a group huddled over by a picnic table one at a time would speak about how they were happy to be free as of that day of whatever addiction they had. However much i longed to just walk over and spew everything... I.... like most anyone i see on this site feel so much embarassment.

Hello again,
Just a suggestion, but look up your local Intergroup Office - It should be listed under AA and most alway have someone answering the phones.  They can help you locate a meeting and maybe you could get to one today.  Sometimes they'll just talk to you for a little bit.  Can't hurt

Just a thought.

Hugs!!

That's how it's done, one foot in front of the other, one day at a time.

Congrats on 8 days, that is awesome. Now, do it again and make it NINE!

I am PROUD to be a recovering alcoholic, today. AA was what got me past that 'embarrassment'  & shame I felt for so long......They no longer exist today.

Hugs!  to you.

Hi There and Welcome!!!

The meetings will help, and we are a one day at a time Program.

And to your title, made my smile, it made me think of a saying around the rooms.

in respect to your thinking, "My mind is like a real bad neighborhood, you should never go there alone" When my thinker starts going on and on, try to stop it with that old saying.

Hope so much you look up and find a meeting, the first one, is probably the hardest, but hope you might feel differently once you are sitting in a chair, and when you do that, it becomes Your Meeting.

Again, WELCOME!!!!
Toni

Welcome to MIP, Bertha. Telling your Story has begun here.. & hopefully soon in meetings. We're here & in fellowship all waiting for you to help us like we want to help you. Like I am helped & how you've helped Mark (MDC) today. It's wonderful to see where Mark has come from in these last few weeks & to see him turn to you & pass on what he's gained already. That is awesome & humbling for me. I'm so grateful to the two of you for showing your honesty, willingness & openmindedness here today. This is how it works. What a Gift. Thank you so much for being here. Please keep on coming back, the both of you. In God's love, unity & support, Danielle x
