Oookay...I can't find any direct emails, but I would particularly like to pass this on to Phil, Stan and Cabbagehead. There may also be others who find this amusing...BUT...there may be some who do not.
Soooooo, all those who are easily offended by the development of the English language, please move on now...
Well, Go on...Click the Alcoholics Anonymous link up the top or your back button and mosey back into the discussion list. Better to be safe.
Nah...you are not going to miss out on some vital part of recovery. It is fine...off you go.
You there...hesitating. He who hesitates, usually ends up offended or offending..so follow the crowd. Yes...just go. Nah, I don't need you pretending later there was no warning...
O.K. So, I just have folks here now with a broad sense of international humour, yeah?
Good.
The following link will take a little while to load. It explains the story thus far...in terms of world peace. You may relate to bits of it. I did. Forgive me for considering certain members as representatives of certain countries...
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." -- Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989"
Actually, Nic.. when I read the first couple of paragraphs,,, that it is to 3 particular people and the rest of us are not welcome to it,,,, I didn't read the rest.... but I wished that you just named the 3 people on the header and I wouldn't even have bothered clicking into the post at all.
God bless you,
amanda

I left it open for folks who were CERTAIN they were going in for a laugh, Amanda.
Living life involves decisions. We can go into things ready to laugh, progress, challenge, run, quibble...whatever. It's all a decision.
I'm happy with my decision. I figured there's folks I don't know so well yet that may still enjoy this. Am glad you did Ellen. How we respond to things helps us get to know each other. I recognise an adventurous spirit in one who is willing to go into new ground without waiting for a ticket. I like folks like that.
Whether you recognise it or not, it was my attempt at treading gently. I am Australian. I realise our humour is not always understood by others, and it is quite possible that folks may just shake their head with intolerance or lack of understanding. That's ok. You were given that option.
I was sharing a laugh with those that wanted it...but if you instead think I should stifle my laughter and just keep it for a select few, I'm afraid laughter doesn't work like that. I don't need to do that, cos those that for whatever reasons find the joke impalatable will just pretend they didn't see it, won't they?... Deny it even existed in the first place?
Maybe you should never have hesitated in the first place. The suggestion was there after all.
